DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Terna is set to invest €80 million in two projects aimed at enhancing the National Transmission Network in Milan, following the authorization from the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security. The projects seek to ensure power supply for future data centers in the northwest area of Milan.

A new electric station named 'Poglianasca' will be constructed in Nerviano, utilizing compact technology to reduce land occupation by approximately 40%. This station will link to the existing 'Turbigo ST - Ospiate' line through two new aerial connections.

Environmental mitigation efforts will also be implemented, including planting along a wooded perimeter to blend with the surrounding landscape. Terna operates 8,450 km of lines and 136 electric stations in Lombardy.
