Terra Industries Expands Drone Production to Secure African Infrastructure
Terra Industries is scaling its drone manufacturing to 30,000 units annually, targeting critical infrastructure security across Africa. The company has secured a $1.2 million contract for deploying AI-powered drones, emphasizing local production and cost efficiency.

Nigerian startup Terra Industries operates a 15,000-square-foot facility in Abuja, aiming for an annual production of 30,000 drones. Established in 2024, the company is already exporting to eight African countries and Canada, safeguarding approximately $11 billion in assets.
Utilizing a vertically integrated approach, it develops critical components in-house, enhancing data security while offering hardware at up to 55% lower costs. Recently, Terra secured a $1.2 million contract with NetHawk Solutions for drone deployment at hydroelectric plants. However, challenges remain regarding consistent quality, software updates, and reliance on annual subscriptions, which may affect client retention during budget constraints.
