Tesco and Branston Launch Low-Carbon Potatoes in UK Stores
Tesco, in partnership with Branston, will launch low-carbon Georgina potatoes in UK stores from February 23. Grown at a Lincolnshire concept farm using low-carbon techniques, these potatoes have a 50% lower carbon footprint compared to conventional production. The farm produced 500 tonnes of potatoes, utilizing circular economy fertilizers and hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel. The initiative aims to help farmers reach net zero targets and test sustainable practices for broader adoption across the agricultural sector.
