Tesla Launches New Solar Panels for Residential Use with Improved Efficiency
Tesla has introduced new solar panels, the TSP-415 and TSP-420, designed for residential installation, featuring power outputs of 415 and 420 watts respectively. The panels are fully assembled at Tesla's Gigafactory in Buffalo, New York.
In 2025, Tesla's automotive division reported a 10% revenue decline, while its energy sector grew, driven by successful energy storage systems like Powerwall. The new panels emphasize aesthetics with a matte black finish and a thicker architectural frame for a seamless roof appearance.
They incorporate 18 independent production zones, enhancing efficiency when parts are shaded. Tesla aims to revitalize its solar business, which has struggled despite previous efforts, including the Solar Roof product. The expansion of the Buffalo Gigafactory aims to increase production capacity to 300 megawatts annually.
