Texas Construction Permits: Data Centers Lead Weekly Investments
Texas recorded significant construction activity for the week ending April 27, 2026, including a $177.8 million data center project. The data center sector continues to dominate, with multiple high-value projects indicating a robust investment trend in the region.

The week’s highest-value construction permit in Texas was filed by Edged for a $177.8 million data center in Irving, covering 257,874 square feet. Construction is set to start in July 2026 and conclude by March 2028.
Following this, Firefly Park's Hotel Voeux, a luxury hotel in Fort Worth, is projected to cost $50 million and is scheduled for July 2026 to May 2028. Encompass Health also plans a $40.8 million rehabilitation facility in Haslet, beginning in August 2026 and finishing in September 2027.
Additionally, DataBank's $155 million alteration project at DFW12 in Red Oak is expected to start in May 2026 and end in October 2027. Digital Realty has a $74.6 million data center suite build-out in Garland planned from July 2026 to July 2027.
Meanwhile, Capital One will renovate office space in Plano for $10.5 million, starting in May and completing by December 2026. The concentration of investment in data centers suggests a strong demand for digital infrastructure in Texas.
