Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a $14 million investment from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund to Coherent Corporation. The grant will enable Coherent to produce more indium phosphide wafers at its Sherman facility. This initiative is aimed at establishing the world's first 6-inch Indium Phosphide wafer factory in Texas, which is expected to enhance operations, expand the Texas workforce, and bolster the U.S. supply chain for photonics technologies used in data centers.
