TGGENCO Issues Tender for 1.5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System
TGGENCO has issued a tender for bids to develop a 1.5 GWh standalone battery energy storage capacity. The project aims to enhance renewable integration in a solar-rich state, facilitate peak shaving, and provide frequency regulation and ancillary services.
The storage systems are designed for a duration of 2-4 hours. The initiative will adopt an Energy Storage-as-a-Service (OPEX) model, reflecting a growing trend in the industry. A technical partner may be required, potentially involving collaboration with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or system integrator. The prequalification and technical bid opening processes are set to take place as part of the tender.
