Thacker Pass Lithium Mine Construction Phase to Commence
Construction at the Thacker Pass lithium mine in Humboldt County will advance with the transport of 100 pipe rack modules. The project aims to produce lithium carbonate for batteries, supporting up to 800,000 electric vehicles annually.
The Thacker Pass lithium mine in Humboldt County is set to begin a new construction phase, with approximately 100 pipe rack modules scheduled for transport between May and August from CarWil's facility in Winnemucca. These components will be moved to the mine site, located about 65 miles north.
Oversized equipment shipments, referred to as 'superloads', will commence on Monday, with the Nevada Department of Transportation providing shipment schedules on NVRoads.com. The lithium carbonate produced at Thacker Pass is projected to enable the production of batteries for 800,000 electric vehicles each year, potentially displacing 317 million gallons of gasoline annually.
