Thailand Approves $3.1 Billion for New Data Centers to Enhance Technology Sector
Thailand's Board of Investment approved proposals worth 96.9 billion baht ($3.1 billion) for new data centers and data-hosting projects. The approved initiatives include three projects by True Internet Data Center costing 45.3 billion baht, two facilities by GSA Data Center valued at 37.2 billion baht, and additional projects from Stellar DC and Freyr Technology.
This approval follows last year's endorsement of 36 data-center projects worth $23 billion. These investments are aimed at accelerating Thailand's digital transformation, generating skilled technology jobs, strengthening domestic supply chains, and supporting growth in sectors including e-commerce, fintech, and AI.
