The Exploration Company Aims to Establish European Space Sovereignty by 2028
The Exploration Company, founded by Hélène Huby in 2021, aims to provide Europe with independent access to space, currently dominated by the U.S., China, and Russia. With over 400 employees and significant funding of $230m, the company is developing capsules for cargo and astronauts, targeting the International Space Station. Its first capsule, Mission Bikini, was developed in nine months at a cost of under €2m, with a larger capsule planned for 2028. The European space economy is projected to grow to $1.8tn by 2035.
