Third Derivative Expands Global Reach with New Zealand Startup Joining Climate Tech Accelerator
RMI's climate tech accelerator, Third Derivative, has welcomed 18 startups from six countries, adding to its portfolio of over 280 companies. The program focuses on accelerating innovative solutions in hard-to-abate sectors like energy, buildings, and transportation. Notable startups include those developing bamboo building systems, modular green hydrogen solutions, and recyclable wind turbines. Since its inception, Third Derivative has raised over $3.7 billion and created more than 4,400 jobs across 27 countries, highlighting its commitment to fostering global climate tech innovation.
RMI's climate tech accelerator, Third Derivative, is making significant strides in its mission to promote innovative solutions for climate challenges by welcoming 18 new startups from six countries across four continents. This latest cohort broadens Third Derivative’s already impressive portfolio to over 280 companies, each dedicated to addressing the critical issues in hard-to-abate sectors such as energy, transportation, materials, and buildings.
Among the pioneers entering this program are those developing scalable bamboo building systems, modular green hydrogen technologies, recyclable wind turbines, and zero-emission cooling solutions. Rushad Nanavatty, managing director of Third Derivative, emphasized the importance of this diverse group, stating that these startups are at the forefront of global climate tech innovation, driven by the urgency to mitigate emissions in the most impactful industries.
The cohort also includes startups focused on essential needs in carbon capture, environmental technologies, hydrogen production, and industrial efficiency. Since its establishment, Third Derivative has not only raised over $3.7 billion but has also contributed to the creation of more than 4,400 jobs worldwide. The program's expanding network now spans 27 countries, showcasing a rich tapestry of geographic and sectoral diversity, all aimed at fostering sustainable solutions for our planet's future.
