Thor Energy Reports 3% Natural Hydrogen at HY-Range Project in South Australia
Thor Energy PLC's Phase-2 survey at the HY-Range Project has detected natural hydrogen concentrations of up to 3%, significantly higher than atmospheric levels. This development enhances the potential for future drilling as the company prepares for a seismic acquisition program to further investigate geological structures.

Thor Energy PLC has recorded natural hydrogen levels reaching 3% at its HY-Range Project in South Australia, equivalent to 30,000 parts per million, which is approximately 60,000 times higher than the typical atmospheric background. The Phase-2 soil air geochemistry survey validated three focus areas: Mallala, Lochiel, and Crystal, and showed consistent elevated readings, surpassing earlier findings from a Phase-1 survey completed in the second quarter of 2025.
The company is advancing towards a 2D seismic acquisition program to refine drilling targets. Enhanced sampling techniques contributed to the high readings, which correlate with geological structures essential for hydrogen accumulation. Thor is fully funded for this next phase of exploration.
