Tianjin Aims for 20 Billion Yuan in Robotics Output by 2028
Tianjin has launched a Smart Robot Industry Innovation and Development Action Plan targeting over 20 billion yuan in output by 2028. The strategy emphasizes local production capabilities, including R&D and manufacturing, aiming for a 15% annual growth rate.

Tianjin's Action Plan seeks to achieve a core industrial output exceeding 20 billion yuan by 2028, requiring an average annual growth rate of over 15%. The plan includes establishing a smart robot innovation consortium and aims to create national-level innovation platforms and develop 20 key technical products.
A focus on enhancing foundational capabilities such as chips and algorithms is also emphasized. The plan aims to develop 200 specialized industrial models and over 100 datasets. However, the success of the initiative will depend on converting demonstration scenarios into sustainable orders, as reliance on external suppliers poses a risk to achieving a cohesive robotics supply chain.
