Tianjin Southwest Orders Ammonia-Capable Carrier from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong
Tianjin Southwest Maritime has placed an order for a 25,000 cu m ammonia dual-fuel carrier at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding. This follows a series of gas carrier deals aimed at expanding its ammonia-capable tonnage. The recent order is part of a broader strategy to enhance its fleet, which includes larger vessels for long-haul ammonia transport.

Tianjin Southwest Maritime has ordered a 25,000 cu m ammonia dual-fuel LPG/liquid ammonia carrier from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding. This order continues the company's trend of acquiring gas carriers, which includes previous orders for 25,000 cu m units designed to transport LPG and ammonia.
These vessels are linked to long-term charters with Trammo and are scheduled for delivery through 2026 and 2027. Additionally, Tianjin Southwest is expanding into larger market segments, having ordered two 90,000 cu m very large ammonia carriers at Jiangnan Shipyard, expected to be delivered in 2028. The company serves major clients such as Sinopec, Shell, BP, and ExxonMobil.
