TiHAN at IIT Hyderabad has launched a NABL-accredited lab for drone and eVTOL propulsion testing, filling a gap in India's aerospace infrastructure. The lab can evaluate full propulsion systems with a thrust capacity of up to 75 kgf, meeting ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

It supports a range of testing, including efficiency benchmarking and dynamic load simulations, crucial for compliance with Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regulations. The facility aids UAV OEMs by enabling local validation and accelerating time-to-market, with scalable testing for multi-motor configurations.

Future plans include hydrogen fuel cell testing. The lab aims to bolster India's UAV capabilities amid global market demands.
