This incident is the second major outage attributed to Oracle since TikTok's U.S. operations sale earlier this year. Major metropolitan areas such as New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles were notably affected.

Downdetector logged thousands of outage reports, with the total continuing to rise into the night. The cause of the outage has not been determined, and timelines for service restoration remain unclear.
