Tongue Primary School Launches Soft Plastics Recycling Initiative
Tongue Primary School's Eco Committee organized its first collection of soft plastics for recycling, supported by the Thurso Co-op. This initiative aims to provide local residents with an accessible way to recycle items like plastic bags, previously requiring travel to Thurso. The school is now encouraging community participation and has produced local bin calendars to raise recycling awareness.

Pupils at Tongue Primary School celebrated their first soft plastics recycling collection, organized by the Eco Committee. The collection, supported by Hollie Whitson from the Thurso Co-op, allows local residents to recycle soft plastics without traveling to Thurso.
The school has set up a recycling cage and is encouraging regular community participation. Additionally, the pupils have created local bin calendars to inform residents about recycling materials and collection schedules. The initiative aims to simplify recycling for residents and reduce village waste.
