TotalEnergies Secures Nzombo Exploration Permit in Republic of the Congo
TotalEnergies has announced the acquisition of the Nzombo exploration permit in the Republic of the Congo, located 100 km off Pointe Noire. This 1,000 km permit will be operated 50% by TotalEnergies, with QatarEnergy and SNPC holding 35% and 15%, respectively. Drilling for one exploration well is planned to commence before the end of 2025. Senior VP Kevin McLachlan emphasized that this award aligns with the company's strategy to enhance its exploration portfolio, leveraging existing infrastructure in the region.
