Touchstone Exploration Brings Carapal Ridge 3 Onstream in Trinidad
Touchstone Exploration initiated production from the Carapal Ridge 3 well on March 28, 2026, enhancing natural gas throughput in Trinidad and Tobago. The company is strategically increasing gas production to meet higher-priced LNG contracts, marking a significant milestone with its first new well in 17 years.

On March 28, 2026, Touchstone Exploration commenced production from the Carapal Ridge 3 (CR-3) well, now integrated into the Central block natural gas facility. This development increased gross throughput from approximately 19 MMcf/d to about 21.5 MMcf/d, with CR-3 demonstrating peak rates of 5.7 MMcf/d during the cleanup phase.
Concurrently, the company drilled the FR-1835 well on the WD-8 oil block, achieving 290 feet of net pay, and has begun a four-well drilling campaign. A booster compressor for the Cascadura facility is in transit to Trinidad, with expected commissioning in May 2026.
Touchstone reported average net sales of 4,778 boe/d for January and February 2026, comprising 20.5 MMcf/d of natural gas and 1,357 bbls/d of crude oil and liquids. This strategic focus on optimizing production aims to fulfill commitments under higher-value LNG contracts.
