Tower Semiconductor and Nuvoton Expand 300mm Production for Silicon Photonics Chips for Nvidia
Tower Semiconductor will enhance its 300mm manufacturing capacity in Japan following a factory swap with Nuvoton, focusing on Silicon Photonics solutions for data centers and AI markets. The companies have operated a joint venture, TPSCo, for years. Tower aims to quadruple its production capacity and supply Nvidia with optical solutions, while Nuvoton will gain control of a 200mm fab. Competitors like Globalfoundries and TSMC are also advancing in the Silicon Photonics field.

Tower aims to quadruple production capacity and has confirmed it will supply Nvidia with optical solutions. Nuvoton will receive a 200mm fab in return.
