Towngas Launches Hong Kong's First Hydrogen-Powered EV Charging System
Towngas has introduced Hong Kong's inaugural hydrogen-powered electric vehicle charging system at its headquarters. This innovation addresses the challenge older commercial buildings face in upgrading electrical systems to accommodate EV chargers, allowing for sustainable energy use with zero carbon emissions.

Towngas has implemented the first hydrogen-powered EV charging system in Hong Kong at its North Point headquarters, enabling older commercial buildings to install EV chargers without significant electrical upgrades. The project leverages a flexible hydrogen power generation solution, using Green hydrogen to produce electricity while eliminating large-scale infrastructure changes.
Each kilogram of hydrogen generates approximately 15 kilowatt-hours of energy, with options for various system sizes to meet electricity demands. This initiative represents a collaboration with CIMC Enric and introduces a bottled-hydrogen supply model. The project is anticipated to facilitate the adoption of green transport in the region, supporting low-carbon transformation efforts.
