Toyota HiLux BEV Launching in Australia with Prices Starting at $80,000
The 2026 Toyota HiLux BEV will be priced from $80,000 and targets mining and government fleets. With a claimed NEDC range of 245km to 315km, it represents a significant shift towards electric vehicles in the Australian commercial sector.

The 2026 Toyota HiLux BEV is set to launch in Australia between April and June 2026, starting at $80,000 drive-away. This electric variant features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with a total output of 144kW and 468Nm, powered by a 59.2kWh lithium-ion battery.
The claimed driving range is 245km to 315km (NEDC), with a lower WLTP estimate of 240km. The HiLux BEV is designed primarily for mining, construction, and government fleets, with an anticipated sales target of just 500 units in 2026.
It offers a maximum braked towing capacity of 2000kg, significantly lower than its diesel counterpart. Potential risks include limited market demand from family and small-business buyers.
