tozero Launches Battery Recycling Facility in Bavaria
tozero has inaugurated a battery recycling plant in Bavaria, processing over 1,500 tons of battery waste annually. This facility will produce high-purity lithium carbonate and recover graphite and nickel-cobalt mix, addressing Europe's need for critical raw materials in the energy transition.

The new recycling facility at Chemical Park Gendorf in Bavaria can handle more than 1,500 tons of battery waste each year. The plant's technology allows for the production of high-purity lithium carbonate and the recovery of graphite and a nickel-cobalt mix at an industrial scale.
Within six months of establishment, tozero has transitioned from lab-scale experiments to industrial operations, demonstrating that effective recycling can support Europe’s energy independence. The recycled materials will be supplied across various sectors including construction and ceramics, potentially reshaping the supply chain for critical materials in Europe.
