TP HCM Establishes Inter-Agency Task Force for $2 Billion AI Data Center Project
TP HCM has formed an inter-agency task force to advance a $2 billion AI data center project at Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, led by Lam Dinh Thang from the Department of Science and Technology. The task force, comprising 15 members from various sectors, aims to streamline development and tackle challenges, while the project, in partnership with Kinh Bac Urban Development Company and Accelerated Infrastructure Capital, will feature a 200 MW IT load capacity and approximately 100,000 GPUs to support AI and cloud computing needs.

TP HCM has established an inter-agency task force to promote the $2 billion AI data center project at Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park. The task force, led by Lam Dinh Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, aims to accelerate project development and address any challenges within its authority.
The task force consists of 15 members from various departments and businesses, including Kinh Bac Urban Development Company and Accelerated Infrastructure Capital (AIC). In November, Kinh Bac and AIC announced a partnership with VietinBank to develop the SGI-HCM Campus, a large-scale AI data center with a design capacity of 200 MW IT Load.
The center aims to operate approximately 100,000 GPUs in the coming years to meet the demands of AI, big data, and next-generation cloud computing. The project will occupy around 10 hectares in Tan Phu Trung and is expected to enhance HCM's strategic computing infrastructure and attract high-tech investment.
