Trafo Supplies 17 Mini Substations for Zambian Underground Copper Mine
Trafo Power Solutions has delivered 17 custom mini substations, including 800 kVA and 1,000 kVA units, to an underground copper mine in Zambia. This project addresses space and operational challenges, ensuring reliable power distribution in confined environments, which is critical for mining operations.

Trafo Power Solutions has provided 17 custom-engineered mini substations for an underground copper mine in Zambia. The project includes both 800 kVA and 1,000 kVA units designed for stringent space limitations.
Each substation integrates medium and low voltage switchgear and a transformer, essential for distributing power to mining equipment. Manufacturing was completed in South Africa, adhering to a tight schedule, with successful factory acceptance tests conducted prior to shipping.
The mini substations are compact, allowing for easy transport via rail cars, crucial for relocating equipment as mining operations progress. Ongoing in-country support will be provided through a local partner in Zambia.
