Transpetrol Orders Two LPG Carriers from HD Hyundai Samho for $230 Million
Belgian shipowner Transpetrol has ordered two LPG carriers from South Korea's HD Hyundai Samho for approximately KRW340.2 billion ($230.7 million). The vessels are designed for ammonia transport, reflecting the industry's focus on ammonia as a marine fuel and hydrogen carrier. This order continues Transpetrol's longstanding relationship with HD Hyundai, which has included previous orders for large gas carriers. Transpetrol also contracted Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding for four LR2 product tankers, enhancing its fleet of around 15 vessels.

Transpetrol has placed an order for two LPG carriers at HD Hyundai Samho in South Korea, valued at KRW340.2 billion ($230.7 million). The ships will be designed for ammonia transportation, aligning with industry trends towards ammonia as a marine fuel and hydrogen carrier.
This deal reinforces Transpetrol's ongoing collaboration with HD Hyundai, following past orders for very large gas carriers. Additionally, Transpetrol has contracted Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding for four LR2 product tankers, further expanding its fleet, which currently includes around 15 vessels.
