Trench Group Secures 765 kV Project in Texas, Opens $60M Factory in North Carolina
Trench Group GmbH announces a 765 kV Capacitive Voltage Transformer project in Texas while opening a $60 million factory in Charlotte, North Carolina. This initiative supports the U.S. grid transformation, with over 4,000 miles of new 765 kV lines planned by 2032.

Trench Group GmbH has been awarded a 765 kV Capacitive Voltage Transformer project in Texas, marking a significant step in the state's electrical infrastructure development. The company will also celebrate the grand opening of a $60 million factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, in July 2026, which will facilitate the production of bushings and transformers for high-voltage applications.
Trench plans to deliver its first 765 kV components by early 2028, enhancing the supply chain to meet increasing U.S. electricity demand, particularly from AI data centers. The U.S. aims to invest $55 to $60 billion in grid enhancements by 2032, driven by aging infrastructure and renewable energy integration. Trench's integrated solutions may mitigate project risks for utilities entering the 765 kV market.
