Treviglio Futura Faces Critical Seven-Month Period to Advance Urban Development Projects
Treviglio Futura, the urban transformation company of the municipality, is entering a crucial seven-month period to secure its future. Following a warning from the Court of Auditors regarding its sustainability, the local administration is working to unlock two significant projects by July 2026.
Established in 2014, Treviglio Futura has struggled since completing the underground parking in Piazza Setti and has not initiated new operations. The key project since 2017, the redevelopment of the historic center's ring road, remains stalled, exacerbated by rising costs and doubts about the company's viability.
Legally required to have a private partner, the company faced scrutiny and was put on hold for two years. The new focus is on the development of the Mezzaluna area, a 67-hectare site intended for new industrial zones, including data centers. The masterplan and business plan were due by September but have faced delays, prompting further calls for reflection on the company's future.
