Tripura Ranked Highest in Business Reforms Deregulation 1.0 Initiative, New Phase to Launch in 2026
Tripura has been ranked the top state under the Business Reforms Deregulation 1.0 initiative, as announced at the 5th Chief Secretaries' Conference in New Delhi, reflecting its commitment to simplifying business regulations. The Centre plans to launch Business Reforms Deregulation 2.0 in 2026, which will focus on 30 priority areas across seven sectors, including education and utilities. Other states like Odisha and Uttar Pradesh also performed well, indicating a broader trend in India's deregulatory efforts.

Tripura has been recognized as the top-ranked state under the Business Reforms Deregulation 1.0 initiative, assessed during the 5th Chief Secretaries' Conference in New Delhi. Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that this acknowledgment reflects Tripura's efforts in simplifying business regulations.
The state was rated alongside Odisha and Uttar Pradesh as leading performers. The Centre plans to launch Business Reforms Deregulation 2.0 in 2026, focusing on 30 priority areas in seven sectors. This phase will emphasize education, utilities, permissions, and address land compliance challenges.
Notably, education, environment, and health have been integrated into the framework. The new program will expand beyond the initial 23 core reform areas. Recent rankings also highlighted Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Rajasthan among the top 12, indicating a broader deregulatory trend in India.
