Tritton Copper Operations Enhances Efficiency with Metso MDM250 Mill Discharge Pump Upgrade
Tritton Copper Operations has upgraded to the Metso MDM250 mill discharge pump, doubling wear life from 1,200 to 2,184 hours, reducing annual rebuilds from seven to four, and improving hydraulic efficiency by 20%. The installation, completed in 2023, aims to increase processing capacity from 1.4 million to 1.8 million tonnes per annum while decreasing seal water usage by approximately 74%. The pump's design minimizes slurry recirculation, enhancing reliability and reducing total cost of ownership.

Tritton Copper Operations upgraded to the Metso MDM250 mill discharge pump, achieving a wear life increase from 1,200 to 2,184 hours and cutting rebuilds from seven to four annually. The site, processing up to 1.4 million tonnes of feed per year, plans to ramp up to 1.8 million tonnes.
The MDM250's hydraulic design improves efficiency by 20% and reduces seal water usage by about 74%. Installed in 2023, the pump was tailored to fit existing infrastructure, allowing for reduced modification costs and enhanced operational reliability.
