Türkiye Initiates Azerbaijani-Bulgarian Green Electricity Corridor Project
Türkiye is enhancing its electricity grid to facilitate renewable energy transmission from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria. This initiative, known as 'Electricity TANAP', aims to establish high-voltage interconnectors and develop market regulations to support cross-border energy trade.

Türkiye's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is preparing to establish a green electricity corridor to transmit power from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria. Key efforts include expanding the electricity grid, developing energy exchanges, and creating necessary market regulations.
TEİAŞ, the state-owned electricity transmission corporation, is collaborating with regional operators to construct high-voltage interconnectors for cross-border electricity flows. Additionally, EPİAŞ is working on establishing the commercial framework and modernizing trading networks. This project positions Türkiye as a significant player in the European electricity market, where it operates the third-largest exchange by volume.
