In August 2025, electricity bills increased by 6% compared to the previous year, driven by energy consumption from these data centers. Trump praised Microsoft for its commitment to manage electricity consumption without burdening Americans.

Microsoft has not commented yet but has acknowledged its focus on minimizing local impacts. The company is continuing to build several facilities while halting plans for a data center in Caledonia, Wisconsin.
