TSECL Issues Tender for 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Tripura
Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This initiative aims to enhance grid stability and manage peak demand, projected to rise from 378 MW to 690 MW by 2030. The project will facilitate renewable energy integration and optimize local transmission efficiency. Bidders must propose battery technology and project duration of either 12 or 15 years, including operational arrangements for charging power.

The Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from developers to establish a 50 MW/200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) across multiple 33 kV substations. The project aims to modernize Tripura's power grid, manage rising peak demand, and integrate renewable energy.
The evening peak load (17:30 to 21:30 hrs) will be a focus for BESS deployment. Proposals must include battery technology and a project duration of 12 or 15 years. Charging arrangements will be negotiated to ensure financial viability.
