Tshwane Scheduled 10-Hour Power Outage for Maintenance in Mamelodi
Tshwane will implement a 10-hour power outage in Mamelodi on June 13 and June 20 to facilitate substation upgrades. This maintenance aims to enhance the reliability of the electricity network.

The City of Tshwane's Energy and Electricity Business Unit has scheduled power outages for parts of Mamelodi on June 13 and June 20, from 8:00 to 18:00 each day. This maintenance work at the Heatherley Substation will involve shutting down the 132kV-to-11kV transformer, connecting 11kV panels, and upgrading critical infrastructure.
Residents are advised to take precautions, treating all electrical installations as live, and to plan for charging devices and storing water during the outages. Enhanced reliability may reduce future outages but requires careful planning from residents.
