TSMC Recognizes Intel as a Significant Competitor in Semiconductor Manufacturing
TSMC's CEO acknowledges Intel Foundry as a formidable competitor in the semiconductor market. Intel is ramping up production of its Core Ultra and Xeon processors while enhancing its Foundry division leadership.

During its recent financial results presentation, TSMC's CEO C.C. Wei described Intel Foundry as a formidable competitor, emphasizing the importance of market leadership and customer trust in gaining market share.
Intel, while still primarily manufacturing its own components, including data center processors, is increasing production of its Core Ultra series and Xeon 6+ processors at its Arizona Fab 32. The company is utilizing advanced manufacturing processes, including 18A (1.8 nm) technology and PowerVia.
While TSMC's N2 production is underway, it does not yet support Intel's backside power delivery technology, indicating a gap in technological advancement. Intel's Foundry division has also seen new leadership with Shawn Han from Samsung Foundry. The competitive landscape could intensify as both companies work to innovate in semiconductor manufacturing.
