TÜV SÜD Certifies Green Hydrogen under EU Standards, Leading RFNBO Certification in Multiple Countries
Germany is targeting climate neutrality by 2050, with green hydrogen playing a key role. TÜV SÜD certifies hydrogen and its derivatives according to EU systems CertifHy EU, ISCC EU, and REDcert EU, ensuring sustainability through traceability.
The European Union's Renewable Energy Directives RED II and RED III mandate quotas for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO), requiring proof of sustainability. TÜV SÜD, recognized by the German Federal Environment Agency in March 2025, has conducted 21 initial certifications in Germany, Austria, France, Denmark, and Chile, establishing itself as the market leader.
Additional certifications are underway for projects in Germany, Italy, and Sweden. TÜV SÜD will showcase its services at E-world in Essen from February 10-12, 2026.
