U-recycle Initiative Africa launched the educational comic book Kola & the Plastic Bottle to empower African students in leading the circular economy transition. This initiative, backed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and the Global Environment Facility, aims to change how youth perceive waste through behavioral science.

The comic supports the PlasticWize 2.0 program, which seeks to make university campuses sustainability hubs. The NGO has previously impacted over 25,000 young people in 11 African countries. Plans for an upcoming hackathon will engage students in creating eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics.
