Ubitus to Launch AI Data Center in Maizuru, Japan, Utilizing NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs
Ubitus will initiate the Maizuru City AI Data Center project on January 29, 2026, aimed at creating a premier AI GPU center in Japan. This initiative, supported by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and NeoCloud, is a significant step in enhancing Japan's AI infrastructure.
The project follows Ubitus's selection for a large-scale investment grant from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The data center will cover 2.3 hectares and will be developed in phases, with construction expected to start in 2026 and complete by 2027.
The first phase will focus on building the center and operational capabilities, while the second phase will expand capacity for generative AI and large language model needs. Ubitus aims to foster local job creation and support regional industrial modernization through the establishment of a resilient national AI computing network.
