UENR and AGEOS Forge MoU for Advanced Space Science Training in Africa
UENR and AGEOS have established a partnership to enhance postgraduate education for space scientists in Africa, focusing on MSc, MPhil, and PhD programs. This collaboration aims to strengthen the region's capacity in space and geospatial disciplines, fostering workforce development in Ghana's expanding space sector.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Ghana signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Agence Gabonaise d'Études et d'Observations Spatiales (AGEOS) to facilitate postgraduate education for AGEOS personnel in Ghana. Under the agreement, AGEOS staff can enroll in various graduate programs at UENR, with UENR providing a 50% tuition fee waiver.
The MoU, effective for three years, includes provisions for accommodation and feeding allowances, and the institutions will negotiate annual intake figures. This partnership positions UENR as a key postgraduate destination in the West and Central African region, supporting Ghana's growing space sector, which includes initiatives like GhanaSat-1 and the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute.
