Completion is targeted for August 2027, aiming to improve water access for neighborhoods like Kira and Nansana.

The National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is expanding the Katosi water supply network with support from the French Development Agency (AFD). This project, initiated in February 2025, includes the installation of 70 kilometers of primary pipelines and construction of new reservoirs to serve North and West Kampala.
The Katosi plant, which can produce 160 million liters daily, currently operates at 52% capacity due to distribution gaps. The expansion aims to resolve these issues and improve access to clean water for areas like Kira and Nansana.
Full project completion is anticipated by August 2027, with interim improvements expected by December 2026 for certain communities. The project also includes a pro-poor component providing standpipes and sanitation facilities to informal settlements.
