UK to Establish Hydrogen-Powered Town by 2030
The UK plans to develop a town entirely powered by hydrogen gas by 2030, aligning with its decarbonization goals. This initiative is part of the broader 'green industrial revolution' aimed at reducing carbon emissions from natural gas.

The UK government aims to create a hydrogen-fueled town by 2030, as part of its decarbonization initiative. Hydrogen, which produces no carbon at the point of use, is viewed as a versatile energy carrier applicable in transportation and industry.
Funding has also been allocated for various hydrogen projects, including £18 million for a Scotland-based scheme and £6.9 million for the H100 Fife project, which aims to provide carbon-free heating for around 300 homes. The Southern California Gas Co. is pursuing a similar hydrogen project in the U.S., further highlighting the growing interest in hydrogen technology.
