Ukraine Establishes Air Defence Forces Command to Combat Drone Threats
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have reorganized their Air Defence Unmanned Systems Command into the Air Defence Forces Command to enhance countermeasures against enemy drones, particularly 'shaheds'. This move is crucial as the number of enemy aerial attacks increases, necessitating advanced strategies and improved interceptor capabilities.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have established the Air Defence Forces Command to strengthen drone countermeasures amid increasing enemy aerial assaults. In March, combat sorties by interceptor drones rose by nearly 55%, with over 2,300 enemy aerial targets destroyed since the start of spring.
The command focuses on developing 'light air defence', modernizing equipment, and enhancing personnel training. Ukrainian-made drones have shown high effectiveness, and the need to boost the number of interceptor UAVs is emphasized.
The integration of artificial intelligence in air defence systems is also prioritized, reflecting the evolving nature of aerial threats. These adaptations are critical for maintaining Ukraine's defensive capabilities and sovereignty.
