Ukrenergo Plans Tariff Increase if Renewable Energy Fund Depleted
Ukrenergo intends to petition for higher electricity transmission tariffs if funds for renewable energy payments are exhausted. This development highlights the financial strain on the renewable energy sector and its reliance on transmission tariffs for operational stability.

NPC Ukrenergo plans to approach the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities to raise electricity transmission tariffs if financial resources for renewable energy generation payments are depleted. Vitaliy Zaychenko, Chairman of the Board of NPC Ukrenergo, indicated that while funds are currently not exhausted, they are nearing depletion.
Both industrial and domestic renewable energy sources, including solar plants, will be affected, as all payments are sourced from the electricity transmission tariff. The potential tariff increase reflects ongoing challenges in funding renewable initiatives in the market.
