UL Solutions Updates Standard UL 2755:2025 for Modular Data Centers to Meet AI Demands
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTUREENERGY STORAGE
UL Solutions has updated the standard UL 2755:2025 for prefabricated modular data center systems to address modern requirements driven by AI workloads, which are projected to constitute 28% of global demand by 2027. The new standard reflects advancements in modular architectures that facilitate scalability through interconnected units for power, cooling, IT, and support systems.
The modular data center market is expected to grow significantly, from $29.3 billion in 2025 to $128 billion by 2035. The update also incorporates changes in the National Electrical Code (NEC) since 2018, ensuring guidelines for energy storage integration and safety standards are met.
