The UNDP and Samsung partnership has transitioned to a new phase with the launch of Youth for Circularity 2030 in Sierra Leone on February 5, 2026. This initiative aims to empower youth to advance responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) by connecting global platforms with local ecosystems.
It engages universities and youth networks to rethink the lifecycle of electronic products, fostering skills in circular economy practices. The project aligns with the UNDP-GEF 'Shifting to Zero Waste Against Pollution (SWAP)' initiative, contributing to national efforts in reducing chemical pollution. Students gain hands-on experience through Circular Innovation Clubs, bridging research and real-world application, ultimately aiming to transform electronic waste management and promote sustainable practices.
