Unicorn Mineral Resources to Acquire 75% Stake in Klein Aub Copper Mine in Namibia
Unicorn Mineral Resources Plc plans to acquire a controlling stake in the Klein Aub Copper Mine in Namibia, targeting a 75% interest by April 2026. Preliminary metallurgical tests show copper recovery rates of up to 70% from slimes and 45% from tailings, with significant potential resources identified. The company will collaborate with Draslovka to explore environmentally friendly extraction methods. Additionally, Unicorn is advancing negotiations for further Namibian copper assets.

Unicorn Mineral Resources Plc is preparing to acquire a 75% controlling stake in the Klein Aub Copper Mine in Namibia by April 2026. Preliminary metallurgical testing indicates copper recovery rates of 60% to 70% from slimes and 35% to 45% from tailings.
The mine, operational from 1966 to 1987, produced approximately 55,000 tonnes of copper. Unicorn is collaborating with Draslovka to assess glycine-based leaching for extraction. The potential resource includes 5.59 million tonnes of tailings and slimes, estimated to host 15,460 tonnes of copper and 1.4 million ounces of silver. The company is also negotiating for additional copper assets in Namibia.
