Uniper and AM Green Ammonia Sign Long-Term Agreement for 500,000 TPA Renewable Ammonia

Uniper SE signed a long-term offtake agreement with AM Green Ammonia India Pvt Ltd for 500,000 metric tons of renewable ammonia annually from projects in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, starting as early as 2028. The ammonia will be certified as a Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin.

The deal supports India's National Hydrogen Mission and aims to decarbonize European industrial sectors. AM Green, backed by international investors including Gentari and GIC, is constructing a 1 MTPA facility in Kakinada.

Uniper is also collaborating with thyssenkrupp Uhde on ammonia cracking technology for its hydrogen import terminal in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. This agreement represents a significant step in establishing a supply corridor between India and Europe.
