The University of Nebraska's National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) has been awarded a $500 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM).
This contract aims to advance rapid-response research supporting national defense and includes a five-year base period with an option for an additional five years. This is NSRI's fourth IDIQ from USSTRATCOM, following prior contracts totaling $283 million.
The funding will facilitate projects addressing electromagnetic operations, radiation syndrome, naval infectious aerosol risks, and CBRN readiness. The award highlights the need for accelerated innovation in national security.
