University of Twente Researchers Secured Veni Grants for Innovative Projects
Three researchers from the University of Twente received Veni grants totaling €960,000 to advance projects in electromagnetic environments, CO₂ capture, and smart membranes over three years. This funding, from the Dutch Research Council, is part of the NWO Talent Programme aimed at supporting the development of independent research careers.

Dr. Tom Hartman, Dr. Abhishek Purandare, and Dr.
Chongnan Ye were awarded Veni grants, each up to €320,000, under the NWO Talent Programme. Hartman's research addresses electromagnetic interference in environments influenced by technologies like electric vehicles and solar panels, focusing on its effects in dairy farming.
Purandare's project aims to enhance cryogenic carbon capture by studying CO₂ freezing from flue gases, utilizing advanced imaging to understand the physical processes. Ye will develop ultrathin polymer membranes with self-repairing properties for energy-efficient industrial separations. This funding is crucial as it fosters innovative research and aids in the transition of researchers toward independence.
