University Students Conduct Experiments at ESA's Orbital Robotics Laboratory
Students from the University of Bologna and University of Twente conduct experiments at ESA's Orbital Robotics Laboratory in the Netherlands. Team STAR-BOTS will research swarm robotics for space debris management, while Team RobOcto will develop flexible arms for gripping. The ESA Academy Experiments programme supports students throughout their project lifecycle, offering training and resources for successful project execution.
University students are conducting experiments at the European Space Agency's Orbital Robotics Laboratory in the Netherlands as part of the ESA Academy Experiments programme. Team STAR-BOTS from the University of Bologna will investigate swarm robotics techniques for space debris, while Team RobOcto from the University of Twente will develop flexible gripping arms.
The programme provides support from concept to data analysis and includes training sessions to familiarize students with the laboratory facilities. This initiative aims to prepare students for careers in the space sector, bridging academic knowledge and practical application.
